Scars from injury, surgery or acne can heal raised, widened, discolored or tight. Scar revision improves how a scar looks and feels, making it flatter, narrower and better blended with the skin around it.

Every scar is permanent, but its appearance can often be improved. Some heal wide or raised, some pull on nearby skin and limit movement, and some sit across natural lines where they catch the eye.
Revision may involve removing the old scar and closing the skin with careful, layered sutures, repositioning it along a natural crease, or releasing tension that causes tightness. Some scars also benefit from non-surgical treatment afterward.
Scars need time to mature before revision, usually at least a year. Dr. Sood examines your scar, explains what can realistically be improved and plans aftercare to protect the result.

Scar revision suits adults with a mature scar they would like to improve. At consultation Dr. Sood explains how much change is possible for your scar.
